Introduction
Today technical institutes of India have a major role in the rapid change of technology and the developments at various fields of technologies to meet the global requirements and standards. The most of the product of technical institutes are working in industries and the technical organizations owned by the Government. With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to outside world, competition among industries has also become tough because of which the industry and institutes are becoming interdependent on each other for new inventions and discoveries to meet the demands of existing problems of the society across the globe. The technical institutes have more responsibilities to understand the need and requirement of today's world and impart the quality technical education to the budding engineers with all the required employability skills. Right from upgrading engineering curriculums to inclusion of technical and employability skill development programs of the students, are becoming key parameters of quality technical education and necessity of the institutes. Alumni who is a stakeholder of the institutes and affectionate towards his/her Alma-Mater can play a better role in this process and bridge the gap between industry and institutes.
Objectives

Scheme for Industrial/ In-Plant Training
Industrial training (In-plant Training/Internship) refers to work experience done during the program of study that is relevant to professional development prior to graduation or post-graduation. Industrial training will provide an industrial exposure to the students as well as an opportunity to develop themselves as per the expectations and requirements of technical society/Industrial sector giving a good start of career. Reputed industries are providing training to the students as a part of their social responsibility and contribution towards nation building. Students are initially get counselled at the institute in order to emerge out with their interest in various streams and the fundamental and theoretical concepts they know in the technical domain.
To get the practical knowledge to the students, the institute insist the students to go for the Industrial trainings and now it is a part of their regular curriculum. In this training, students will have to make a study of industrial technologies, processes, practices and work culture of industries and submit the reports to the university. Professor-in-charge from institute and Expert from industry will guide the student during this industrial training. The training period will be of 2 to 6 weeks preferably during winter or summer vacation period of the institute. Such trainings will also provide an additional opportunity to both institute and industries to develop collaborative approach for future industry and institute interactions

Activities under Alumni Association
Alumni Association of Government College of Engineering is serving the society through the platform of Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad with its network and members of Alumni Association (AAGECA). Every year association organises various technical and social activities for the overall development of budding engineers and the institute. It also supports the institute to enhance the quality of various program / projects run by the institute. Mainly following activities organized by association since 2011
1] Toppers Felicitation and Appreciation Program
To motivate and encourage talent available at the institute, every year Final Year Toppers felicitation and appreciation program is organised. Under this program the toppers from Six Final year programs, Six Third year programs, Six Second year programs and First year are felicitated and given a prize of Rs. 2100 along with certificate and memento. Topper from PG Program (MCA), Topper of Engineering Mechanics subject at First year and Topper of Transportation Engineering II subject at Final year civil engineering are also felicitated and given a prize of Rs. 2100.
2] Educational Assistance Scheme
Educational Assistance Scheme is aimed to provide financial assistance to the needy students of the institute to complete their engineering education. Under this scheme Rs. 24000/- (Twenty Four Thousands) per year is provided to the students. Since 2011 every year 30-40 students are getting benefits from this scheme with the helping hands of the Alumni of the institute. The pioneer of the scheme is Mr.RatnakarMungikar,1978 ,Mechanical Batch Alumni who started this scheme in 2011.
3] Alumni Meetings and Get-To-Gethers
Alumni meetings and get-together are organised by Institute and Association on regular basis. The main agenda of the meeting is to make aware about various programs/ projects run by the institutes and motivate them to support for its success. Feedbacks given by the alumni are considered for the improvements and developments.
Collaboration with industrial organizations Like CII, CMIA, MASSIA and Other
GECA is a member of industrial organization like Confederation Indian Industries (CII), Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA), Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries & Agriculture (MASSIA). Students and Faculty participates in the activities such as Conferences/Symposium/ workshops/CSR activities and etc. organized by CII, CMIA, MASSIA on regular basis.
