As per powers vested to the Principal, Government Engineering College Aurangabad applications in prescribed format are invited from eligible candidates (academicians and persons from industry) for appointment of Professor of Practice/Visiting Faculty/Adjunct Faculty as per State Government/AICTE/UGC norms for UG/PG programs to different courses for fixed duration. Applications are also invited for the appointment of Incubation Manager, AnkurGECA Incubation Center Foundation (Under section 08 of The Companies Act, 2013)

The institute wishes to appoint Professor of Practice for following Programs.

The National Education Policy 2020 seeks to transform higher education by focusing on skill- based education to meet needs of the industry and the economy. Further, the NEP also recommends integrating vocational education with general education and strengthening industry-academia collaboration in HEIs. For skilling of youth at the optimum level, learners are required to think like employers and employers are to think like learners. Towards this, the UGC has taken a new initiative to bring the industry and other professional expertise into the academic institutions through a new category of positions called “Professor of Practice”. This will help to take real world practices and experiences into the class rooms and also augment the faculty resources in higher education institutions. In turn, the industry and society will benefit from trained graduates equipped with the relevant skills.

1. Objectives:

• To develop courses and curriculum to meet the industry and societal needs and enable the HEIs to work with industry experts on joint research projects and consultancy services which will be mutually beneficial.
• To bring in distinguished experts from various fields such as engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, management, chartered accountancy (CA), commerce, social sciences, media, literature, fine arts, civil services, armed forces, legal profession and public administration into the academic institutions.
• To enable the higher education institutions to formally associate with persons of eminence and encourage them to participate in experiential learning, research, training, skilling, entrepreneurship and extension and to play mentoring role.

2. Eligibility:
i. Distinguished experts who have made remarkable contributions in their professions from various fields such as engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, commerce, social sciences, media, literature, fine arts, civil services, armed forces, legal profession, community development, panchayat raj, rural development, watershed development, water-harvesting, organic farming, small green energy systems, municipal planning, community participation, gender budgeting/planning, inclusive development of tribals and public administration among others. Those who have proven expertise in their specific profession or role with at least 15 years of service/experience, preferably at a senior level, will be eligible for Professor of Practice.
ii. A formal academic qualification is not considered essential for this position if they have exemplary professional practice in lieu. These experts will also be exempted from the requirement of publications and other eligibility criteria stipulated for the recruitment of faculty members at the Professor level. However, they should possess the skills to carry out the duties and responsibilities.

3. Duties and Responsibilities:

i. Involve in the development and designing of courses and curriculum.
ii. Introduce new courses and deliver lectures as per institutional policies.
iii. To encourage students in innovation and entrepreneurship projects & provide necessary mentorship for these activities.
iv. To focus on enhanced industry-academia collaborations.
v. Conduct jointly in collaboration with regular faculty member of the institution, workshops, seminars, deliver special lectures and training programmes.
vi. Carryout joint research project or consultancy services in collaboration with the regular faculty member of the concerned HEI.

4. General Conditions:

i. The engagement of Professor of Practice will be for a fixed term.
ii. The engagement of Professor of Practice will be exclusive of the sanctioned posts of a university/college. It will not affect the number of sanctioned posts and the recruitment of regular faculty members.
iii. Professor of Practice is not open for those in teaching profession- serving or retired.

5. Remuneration:
Full-time engagement: Consolidated amount, mutually agreed between the institution and expert. Maximum Rs.100,000 = 00 Per Month

6. Procedure for selecting Professor of Practice
a) The Principal invites nominations from eminent experts for Professor of Practice positions.

c) In google form attach a detailed biodata and a brief write-up about their potential contribution to the HEI.
Eligible shortlisted candidates will be called by E-mail to appear before a committee formed by Institute on 26/06/2023 @ 11.30 AM Venue: Training and Placement Cell. Based on the recommendations of this committee, statutory bodies of the Institute will decide on the engagement.

7. Tenure
The engagement may be initially for six months to one year. At the end of the initial engagement or subsequent extension, the HEI will make an assessment and take the decision about extension. The HEI will devise its own assessment procedure for extension based on the contribution and requirement of the experts engaged as Professors of Practice.
The maximum duration of service of Professor of Practice at a given institution should not exceed three years and is extendable by one year in exceptional cases and the total service should not exceed four years under any circumstances.

The institute wishes to appoint Adjunct Professor for following Programs.

Eligibility:
An Adjunct Faculty/ Resource person shall be a Faculty retired from Government Technical Institution for UG and PG programs or a person of eminence, having minimum 15 years of experience from Industry or 10 years from academics AND with Post Graduate or PhD qualification in relevant discipline. Upper age limit for Adjunct Faculty/ Resource Person is 65 years but no bar as long as he/ she add value to the Education and academic activities of the Institution.

Function:
Functions of Adjunct Faculty/ Resource person from Industry are:
a) Teaching Technical Course(s): Adjunct Faculty shall be expected to teach Course(s) directly related to his/ her specific expertise and professional experience or the areas of his/ her specialization. He/ She shall also contribute to the Institution’s activities like counselling students, developing new course(s), and pedagogical improvements.
b) Participation in service-related activities: Adjunct Faculty is also expected to actively participate in service-related activities, such as working on Departmental Committees, serving as advisors to Faculty and/ or Under Graduate and Post Graduate students, helping students network, and active collaboration with the Industry/ Employer providing internship and job opportunities. As it is working with a. minimum of 3 days per week at the institution.
c) In campus work: The Adjunct Faculty shall work at the host Institution for a minimum of 04 days per visit. Minimum 2 theory courses is expected to teach related to his/her expertise and professional experience for UG/PG programme. Minimum 36 lectures per course in a semester is expect to conduct.

Honorarium:
An honorarium to be provided to Adjunct Faculty
1. Retired from Govt./Govt. aided institutes will be Last pay drawn – present pension availed
2. Persons from Industry, R&D Institutes, Academic institutions Maximum Rs. 75,000=00 Per Month
3. Part time engagement Rs. 1500/- per Hour for Theory Lectures and Rs. 750/- per hour for
Practical/Project/Mentoring load (Total honorarium includes TA/ DA, Honorarium, Travel cost.

The revised hourly remuneration for Visiting faculty on purely Clock Hour Basis will be as per Government Resolution No. संकिर्ण 2016/ प्र. क्र. Position: Incubation Manager/Coordinator for "AnkurGECA Incubation Centre Foundation" (Under section 08 of The Companies Act, 2013)

Job Responsibilities:
• Creating awareness about Innovations, Incubation, Entrepreneurship and Start-up, etc.
• Engaging students in these activities and Developing start-up culture within institution
• Engaging and maintaining communications with mentors, speakers, experts, government officials and potential investors for various training/selection/mentorship, programs/events, Designing and implementing outreach efforts/events
• Liaising and Creating support network for incubation centre and managing incubation support activities of evolving start-ups
• Engaging with potential incubatees and creating pipeline of applicants through programs and events, maintaining database of applicants and implementing selection process
• Financial and administrative record keeping of the centre
• Keeping track of progress and support provided to pre-incubation/incubation activities

Academic Qualification:
• Graduate degree in engineering discipline from a reputed university / academic institution.

Experience:
• Work experience of minimum 01-02 years
• Candidates with experience in handling activities related with startup and Entrepreneurship would be preferred.
• Experience in dealing with industrialists and working professionals would be an added advantage.
• Candidate working on own startup would be preferred

Key Skills and Requirements:
• Excellent communication skill in English is a must

Emoluments:
• Rs.25,000/- to Rs.35,000/- Per Month commensurate with qualification, experience and suitability for the post.

General Instructions:
• Applicants working in Govt./Semi Govt./Public Sector Undertaking will be required to submit 'No Objection Certificate' from their employer at the time of Interview. Candidates on selection are required to submit relieving letter from their employer (Govt./Public sector/Private) at the time of joining the Institute, without which they will not be allowed to join.

• The prescribed qualification is the minimum and mere fulfilling the minimum essential qualification will not entitle an applicant to be called for test/interview.
